Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Already Learning, a subscription web application that helps homeschooling families in Canada track their children’s progress against official provincial curriculum outcomes. By creating an account, you agree to these Terms.

1. Eligibility and Accounts

• You must be at least 18 years old, or the parent or legal guardian of the children whose education you are tracking, to create an account.
• Accounts are for use by the parent or guardian managing their family’s home education records. Children do not create their own accounts or sign in directly.
• We use passwordless email sign-in. You are responsible for maintaining access to the email address associated with your account, and for all activity that occurs under your account.

2. Subscription and Billing

• Plans: we offer monthly and annual subscription plans, at the prices displayed at checkout. Pricing covers your account and all children’s profiles on it.
• Payment processing: all payments are processed by Stripe. We do not receive or store your card details.
• Auto-renewal: subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled beforehand.
• Cancellation: you may cancel at any time by deleting your account, which immediately cancels any active subscription.
• Refunds: except where required by law, payments are non-refundable, including for partial billing periods.
• Price changes: we may change subscription pricing with advance notice. Changes will not apply to a billing period you’ve already paid for.

3. Curriculum Content

Curriculum outcome text displayed in the app is sourced from official provincial curriculum documents (currently Alberta and Ontario). Already Learning is an independent, privately operated product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or an official product of Alberta Education, the Government of Ontario, or any school board. We make reasonable efforts to keep curriculum content accurate and current, but you should verify against the official government source for any content you rely on for formal reporting purposes.

4. AI-Assisted Activity Matching

The app includes an optional feature that uses AI to suggest which curriculum outcomes an activity you describe may relate to. These suggestions are generated automatically and are not verified against official education standards. You are responsible for reviewing and confirming the accuracy of any suggested match before relying on it, including for any reporting you provide to a school board or supervising authority. Already Learning is a personal tracking tool, not a certified compliance or legal service, and using it does not guarantee that you have met any jurisdiction’s home education reporting requirements.

5. Resources Page and Third-Party Links

The app includes a Resources page linking to third-party organizations, curriculum providers, and other external websites. We do not control, and are not responsible for, the content, accuracy, or practices of any third-party site linked from the app.

• Affiliate disclosure: some links on the Resources page may be affiliate or referral links. If you click one and make a purchase or sign up for a service, Already Learning may earn a commission, at no additional cost to you. Inclusion of any organization or resource on this page is not an endorsement of it, and we do not independently verify third-party content or outcomes.

6. User Content

You may enter information into the app, including children’s names, notes, and descriptions of learning activities (“User Content”). You retain ownership of your User Content. By submitting an activity description to the AI matcher, you authorize us to send that content to our AI service provider for the purpose of generating outcome suggestions, as described in our Privacy Policy.

7. Acceptable Use

• You agree not to misuse the service, including attempting to access another user’s account or data, interfering with the service’s normal operation, or using the service for any unlawful purpose.

8. Intellectual Property

The Already Learning application, including its design, code, and original written content, is owned by us. Curriculum outcome text remains the property of the respective provincial government or copyright holder, used under the terms described in Section 3.

9. Termination

• You may delete your account at any time, which permanently removes your data as described in our Privacy Policy.
• We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these Terms, with notice where reasonably possible.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it satisfies any specific jurisdiction’s legal home education reporting requirements.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Already Learning will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including reliance on AI-suggested matches or curriculum content accuracy.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Alberta, Canada.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through a notice in the app before the changes take effect.
